Like most people chickens were our gateway to farming and still hold a special spot in our hearts.
We started with two Copper Marans, they came home to our play structure turned chicken coop on a rainy December day and they were spoiled rotten! It took awhile for them to finally lay, but when they did you would think we one the lotto.
Over the last 9 years the flock has grown to have a variety of breeds, Icelandics Production Reds and my personal favorite Americanas. I love getting different breeds to try every year!
It has always been important that we raise our hens with the best life possible, starting with how they eat and making sure they have the ability to express their natural instincts. It never gets old watching them pecking around looking for something tasty to eat!
